Yasser Arafat Foundation Board Holds Its 69th Meeting

2026-10-12

The Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation held its 69th meeting at the Yasser Arafat Museum on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Chairman of the Board, and attended by board members based in Palestine. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and members residing outside Palestine joined remotely via video conference.

The Foundation’s Director General and the museum’s director were also in attendance. The Board approved the program of events marking the 22nd anniversary of the martyrdom of founding president Yasser Arafat. It also endorsed the report submitted by the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award Committee for 2026 and decided that the winner would be announced and honored at a special ceremony scheduled for October 29, 2026.

The Board discussed several matters related to membership of the Board of Trustees and preparations for next year’s General Assembly meeting. It also reviewed and approved the administrative and financial reports submitted by the Foundation’s management, discussed key programs and activities carried out by the Foundation, and reviewed progress at the Yasser Arafat Museum, including efforts to expand its programs and strengthen its cultural and national mission.

The Board paid tribute to the Palestinian people wherever they may be, expressing its deep appreciation for their steadfastness and resilience in the face of what it described as a war of genocide, attempts at forced displacement, and efforts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Board reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting all national efforts aimed at strengthening the Palestinian national narrative and bringing it to the attention of local and international audiences.

Glory and mercy to the martyrs.
 Freedom for the prisoners.
 Healing for the wounded.
