Dr. Odeh Masharqa, Director General of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, welcomed a delegation from the Palestinian Police General Sports Federation, headed by Colonel Mohammad Hendeh, at the Foundation’s headquarters on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Dr. Masharqa stated that the Yasser Arafat Foundation has undertaken the responsibility of preserving the legacy and journey of the late Yasser Arafat and documenting the history of the Palestinian cause. He presented the Foundation’s vision, mission, objectives, and the various activities and programs it implements throughout the year. He also highlighted the annual commemoration of the founding president’s martyrdom and a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening knowledge of Palestinian national identity, preserving the heritage of the Palestinian national movement and struggle, and honoring the legacy of President Yasser Arafat and his fellow leaders. Dr. Masharqa further acknowledged the important role played by the Palestinian Police across various sectors.

During the meeting, Dr. Masharqa presented the delegation with a collection of the Foundation’s publications and media productions, including documentary films, videos showcasing the Foundation’s activities, An Unforgettable Life, the Foundation’s official publication, and the scientific volume of the Yasser Arafat Award for Research and Studies.

He also thanked the delegation for their visit and for their contributions to the commemoration event, affirming the Foundation’s readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the Palestinian Police and the Sports Federation in organizing activities that serve the Palestinian people and strengthen their resilience on the ground.

For his part, Colonel Mohammad Hendeh expressed his appreciation for the Foundation and commended its significant role within Palestinian society. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in preserving and commemorating the legacy of the founding president and his fellow companions.

Colonel Hendeh also noted that the Palestinian Police Sports Federation organizes a wide range of sporting activities that serve Palestinian society across various fields and sectors.
