Dr. Ahmad Soboh, Chairman of the Board of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, welcomed the Brazilian Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Mr. Marcelo João Soares, on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Foundation’s headquarters in Ramallah.

Dr. Soboh highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries and commending Brazil, both its government and people — for its principled positions in support of the Palestinian cause.

He also presented an overview of the Foundation, its mission, vision, and objectives, as well as the nature of its activities and its approach to preserving and commemorating the life, legacy, and struggle of leaders and companions of the founding president, Yasser Arafat.

For his part, Ambassador Marcelo João Soares expressed his pleasure at visiting the Yasser Arafat Foundation, honoring the historic leader of the Palestinian people and a global symbol of freedom and struggle. He reaffirmed Brazil’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause in all international forums and its continued provision of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
