Dr. Awda Mashareqa, Director General of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, welcomed a delegation from the Public Relations Department of the Community Policing and Media Directorate in the Palestinian Police, including Lt. Col. Mohammad Al-Aydi and 1st Lt. Rola Al-Talbani, at the Foundation’s headquarters on Monday, October 27, 2025. During the meeting, Dr. Mashareqa emphasized the Foundation’s mission to preserve the life, legacy, and historical narrative of the late President Yasser Arafat and the broader story of the Palestinian struggle, outlining its vision, objectives, and ongoing programs—particularly the annual commemoration of Arafat’s martyrdom.

 

He highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Foundation and the police in promoting national identity and collective memory, and praised the police for their active role in the nationwide remembrance events. Dr. Mashareqa also presented the delegation with the official poster marking the 21st anniversary of Arafat’s passing and several of the Foundation’s publications and documentary materials, expressing gratitude for their continued partnership and contribution to preserving the legacy of the Palestinian national movement.
