As part of its ongoing outreach efforts, a delegation from the Yasser Arafat Foundation, led by Chairman Dr. Ahmad Soboh, visited Al-Quds University in Abu Dis on October 8, 2025. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, along with his advisors for academic, administrative, and public relations affairs.

The Foundation’s delegation included Dr. Odeh Masharqa, Director General; Fares Saqar, Director of Media and Public Relations; and Mahar Abu Ein, Director of Activities.

Dr. Soboh emphasized that the visit aimed to deepen cooperation between the Foundation and Al-Quds University. “This initiative is part of a broader series of engagements with Palestinian universities to foster national values among students and help cultivate a new generation of capable leaders particularly in light of the political challenges currently facing the Palestinian cause,” he said.

He further noted that the Yasser Arafat Foundation was established to preserve the legacy of the Palestinian struggle and the life of Yasser Arafat, while promoting democratic and national values. Dr. Soboh highlighted the Foundation’s flagship project, the Yasser Arafat Space (including the mausoleum, museum, and mosque) as a vital tool for documenting Palestinian history and Arafat’s journey as a national leader.

“The museum features a wide range of exhibits, original belongings, and multilingual documentary films, available in eight languages, making it accessible to both Arab and international visitors. It also houses a dedicated research room with Palestinian sources and academic references for scholars, writers, and students,” he added.

Dr. Soboh invited the university’s leadership, faculty, and students to visit the Yasser Arafat Museum to strengthen national identity and historical awareness among the student body.

During the visit, the Foundation presented the university with a collection of its audiovisual and printed publications, including the documentary An Unforgettable Life, the Comrades of the Path film series, a compilation of the Foundation’s past activities, and bilingual editions.

For his part, Prof. Imad Abu Kishek expressed gratitude to the delegation, praising the Foundation’s efforts and contributions. “We are proud of the Yasser Arafat Foundation, both for its professionalism and the quality of its programs that serve Palestinian society,” he said.

Prof. Abu Kishek also announced plans to schedule an official visit by the university’s leadership to the Yasser Arafat Museum.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing joint initiatives that serve Palestinian students, researchers, and the broader community with the goal of preserving national identity and enriching cultural and historical awareness on campus.
