2025-07-10

The Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation held its 64th meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Yasser Arafat Museum.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Soboh, Chairman of the Board. It was held in person for members residing in Palestine and via videoconference for those abroad. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abbadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, also participated in the meeting, which was attended by all board members, along with the Director General of the Foundation and the Director of the Museum.

The Board was briefed on the Foundation’s ongoing activities and discussed a report covering its programs and initiatives, including the conclusion of the 8th edition of the National Knowledge Competition, the ongoing exhibition “UNRWA: Where To?” at the Yasser Arafat Museum, and the Foundation’s visits to universities across the country to explore how they can benefit from the Museum and the Foundation’s archive. The meeting also addressed the work of the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award Committee for this year, the new award for research and studies, and preparations to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the martyrdom of the founding president.

The Board expressed satisfaction with the continued implementation of the “Companions of the Path” program in its fourth year and approved the upcoming activity plan.

The Board also decided to convene the 16th meeting of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees on August 4, 2025. It will be held in person at the Museum for those in Palestine and via videoconference for those abroad.

The meeting concluded with a tribute to our steadfast and resilient people wherever they are, especially in Gaza, as we collectively face a campaign of genocide, displacement, starvation, and forced expulsion.

The Board reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to steadfastness and resistance against the ongoing occupation and aggression until our inalienable national rights are fulfilled—by ending the occupation and establishing our independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
